Plans in Seattle

Comments

Climbing up Space Needle (http://www.spaceneedle.com/) to feel the view of Dark Angel (TV Drama), walking around Pike Place Market (http://www.pikeplacemarket.org/frameset.asp?flash=true) and eating quality seafood. I visited Seattle for the first time, when I was 17 years old.

Visiting secret hospital style HQ of Amazon.com might be also interesting.

fun! i lived in seattle for 4 years.

pike's market place is a definite must. the original starbucks is there...and there's usually music outside.

since it's summer i'd head down to green lake and see if you see any rabbits hopping around.

hopefully mt. rainier is out so you can get some awesome views.

if you're into music, experience music project (emp) is pretty awesome. you also might like the underground tour of the city.

otherwise drink a lot of beer and have fun!

[this is good]
I'd say:

Skip the Space Needle. The ferry to Bainbridge is about as good, and same price.

Pike Place Market is okay for a wheeze.

If you can get someone local to grill you some fresh wild Pacific salmon, that's bliss.

Coffee shops: Victrola on 15th Ave E (Capitol Hill), Caffe Vita (Pike St or Queen Anne), Aurafice (heavy metal + wifi) on Pine St., Elliott Bay Books (in Pioneer Sq), Online Coffeehouse (good place, despite the name: Olive Way), Onthe House (Pike St, Capitol Hill: coffee here is free between 5 and 10 M–F or something).

Restaurants: Taverna (Greek food, 6th St). Coastal Kitchen on 15th Ave E (Capitol Hill). 611 Supreme (crêpes, 611 Pine St.), Thai Tom (University Way), Julia's (Wallingford & 45th), B & O Espresso (Olive Way, eschew nearby Starbucks).

Books: Elliott Bay Books (in Pioneer Sq), Bailey/Coy (Broadway), Twice Sold Tales (John St & Broadway).

Art: Henry Art Gallery (on the University campus).

Weird: Red Square (University campus, contains Broken Obelisk, etc.).

Read "The Stranger" to find out what's going on.
Marrakesh is a great Moroccan restaurant! It's in the Belltown neighborhood downtown.

Don't "Ride the Duck." It's a lame tourist attraction, and you probably don't want to get mixed up with that lot anyway.
Thanks everyone. I'm flying to Seattle tomorrow evening and will find out what to do there looking at your comments!
