Possible new iPods

Recently the battery life of my iPod nano (first generation, black, 2GB of storage) is pretty low. It goes to zero like in 2 or 3 hours. Also I started buying songs on AmazonMP3 which is 256Kbps MP3 bitrate, which makes me want more storage.

What should I buy next? I'm thinking of iPod nano 3G 8GB (the fat one) or iPod Classic 80G. Who's got a new nano? How is that working for you? I'm not a huge fan of coverflow, but the new UI seems kinda slick and the capability to see the videos is good, even though I have other gadgets to do that already, like PSP.

I got an ipod classic 160gb right after they came out. I've been very happy with it, though with the new ui scrolling through the list of playlists is not quite as smooth as it used to be. I like having coverflow but it's not the reason I bought the new 'pod--for me it was purely out of a desire to have one that I could fit my entire msuci collection on (and about six seasons of Simpsons episodes.)

my ipod nano is suffering from low battery life as well. i've pretty much decided on getting the new fat nano as i only need it for daily commuting (and flash memory works better for my usage anyways). and on occasional browsing of my playlists had to be doable so having a screen was a requirement (color or b/w, not an issue). so nano was my obvious choice. if you're in the market for a video ipod (which doesn't seem to be the case), or want to have your entire collection in the ipod (again, doesn't seem to be an issue), go for the nano.its

i have the 30GB ipod video, i bought it just before the new fat one's out. Well i'm happy with it, 30GB is lots of space for me. I dont really like the new one looks.
