I so <3 this song and the remix.
Now that we have Nico Nico Douga conduit on Vox, here is my favorite selection of Vocaloid songs on the site.
Once I talked about 初音ミク before, and now we've got a great compilation album for this "artist": livetune's Re:package. Their sound is electronic and they use vocorder (autotune) to give more techno flavor to this vocaloid's voice. Melodies are so catchie and pop.
The result sound is somewhat close to what Yasutaka Nakata usually produces, so if you like Perfume, capsule or MEG I'd highly recommend this album for you. I'm listening to their complication all day long and it's yet never tiring me. You can find more videos by searching for livetune on YouTube.
Unfortunately their album was sold only at the Japanese biggest Otaku market Comiket and now at the Japanese small online store, but if you don't mind pirating there is a couple of ways to get them. Wish they release the album on iTunes store!
This phenomenon is kind of really hard to explain to most non-Japanese readers I guess, but check these videos out. Among lots of songs, these two are my favorite.
The vocalist (Hatsune Miku) doesn't really exist. It's a software (a.k.a Vocaloid) that you can program to let her sing whatever song you want. Lots of users (I guess mostly not professional) use their Desktop Music composing software to let Hatsune Miku sing their original songs and they are uploaded to Nico Nico Douga (Great video sharing site in Japan. Basically like YouTube with time-sync floating comments, but more features and culture there, enough to make me addicted... maybe another time to explain) and YouTube. Actually most songs come with an original Japanese lyrics that describes and represents the characterics of Hatsune Miku, which is so awesome and touching as well.
It really is revolutionary I think...
